An excellent quality violin made in 1904 - 1905 from a well know and respected workshops, made by Laberte - Humbert Frères for the Paul Blanchard atelier. Labelled Lugdunum this was a workshop label used for specially selected instruments finished and sold by Paul Blanchard. This example has fine workmanship, is in excellent condition and lovely to play. The two piece back of strong flamed maple is 360 mm in length and a close grain spruce front. Finished in a dark orange varnish. Set up with original rosewood pegs, ebony tailpiece and chinrest and Larsen Virtuoso strings. Supplied in a new lightweight case. This violin has a lovely sweet tone, well balanced with a clear smooth treble. Recommended!
