An excellent violin in very good condition by Charles Bailly, dated 1923. Signed on the label and branded below the tail pin with the makers brand. The back length is: 359 mm. Well made with a two piece back of narrow horizontal figure, a black lined scroll typical of the violins of this period and finished in an orange/brown oil varnish. Set up with Dominant strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. The violin has a warm sonorous bass and lovely clear treble, it is well balanced with plenty of volume. Very good value for one of these violins!
