A lovely violin with lots of character from a very sought after maker, these fine quality Collin-Mezin instruments are becoming increasingly difficult to find, this example is a Victorieux model with the flatter centre to the table, described by many as his golden era. In excellent condition apart from one very minor split repair just below the bottom right hand corner, see front photo. Made in 1933 from selected woods, set up with ebony and rosewood fittings, Obligato strings and supplied in a new case. The length of the back is 357 mm. This is a violin with a lovely golden tone, the Collin-Mezin violins are always well balanced, with a sonorous bass and good volume. A pleasure to play, recommended!
