H.Clotelle were made by both the Laberte-Humbert workshops and the Marc Laberte workshops at Mirecourt from around 1900 to 1925. There was originally a maker by the name of H.Clotelle who worked initially for the Laberte-Humbert brothers from 1891.They are good violins in their class, this example is in excellent condition with just very minor blemishes. The back length is 358 mm. Set up with rosewood and ebony fittings, a new set of Dominant strings and supplied in a new light weight case. This instrument has an excellent warm and mellow tone with a nice clear treble and good volume. A good intermediate instrument!
