A photo of the label:

With a West Country Violins certificate.

A fine instrument from the workshops of Georges Apparut in the style of Guarnerius, made in 1939. The violin has a Joseph Charotte label, Georges worked with Charotte for many years, eventually he bought the workshop and continued to use the Charotte label in his workshop instruments. This example is in lovely condition with just very minor varnish marks, finished in a nut brown oil varnish over a golden ground. The back length is 356 mm. Set up with rosewood fittings, Larsen Virtuoso strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. This violin has a lovely clear and responsive sound with a warm sonorous bass. A violin with real character!
