A violin made in collaboration between two very well known French makers Georges Apparut and Paul Hilaire. This instrument was made in their Mirecourt atelier circa 1940. This is a well made instrument with lovely figure to the maple back, sides and neck. Finished in a nut brown patination. The condition is good, no repairs apart from a small wing crack re-glued, other than this just a bit of varnish discolouration to the front and some pitting to the varnish. The back length is: 356 mm. Setup with Dominant strings and supplied in a new light weight case. Made in the style of Guarneri which gives a sonorous deep bass with a nice clear treble sound. A good instrument!
