A fine quality nickel mounted pernambuco bow by Prosper Colas, made around 1895. The bow is signed Prosper Colas Paris on the stick below the frog. This is a beautiful bow in near mint condition, just the very smallest of blemishes. The bow is original in all of its principle parts as stated in the Raffin certificate. Prosper Colas worked with J.B.Vuillaume in Paris, he was greatly influenced by Claude Husson and François Bazin, his work has often been attributed to these two great makers! With the present lapping the balance is perfect, and the stick has good strength. It draws a rich full sound when needed but also has agility. Recommended!
