This is a beautiful instrument made by Victor Audinot known as Audinot - Mourot. The son of Charles Audinot Victor trained with François Chardin and Tèlesphore Barbé. A superb maker who's work is exquisite, all of his violins were entirely hand made by himself with skilful attention to the smallest of details. This example is in near mint condition with just the very smallest of marks, dated 1938 on the label and signed on the treble side in ink by the maker, the label says Paris but this was probably made when Victor moved to his Mirecourt atelier. The back is in one piece, length 355 mm. Set up with new Pro Arte strings and supplied in a new lightweight case. This violin has a lovely rich classy tone with good balance and plenty of volume. A very nice instrument!
